The Big Chair Dance - a simultaneous dance experience for older Londoners. Four unique chair dances have been created especially for older people to be performed across London as part of Big Dance 08…. From Hip Hop to Classical Indian these dances promise to challenge, entertain and inspire! The Big Chair Dance forms the central event for the 2008 Capital Age Festival hosted for the first time by the Southbank Centre on Friday 11 July, 1 – 5pm The Capital Age Festival will see over 200 older people performing the Big Chair Dance on Friday 11 July at 3pm with hundreds more performing in local events across the capital, creating a mass simultaneous dance performance. A
host of other performers including Leap of Faith, the Hoxton Singers,
Totlyn Jackson, Will Gains and Montage theatre will perform as part of
the Capital Age Festival, spilling out of the hall onto the terraces and
foyers of the Southbank Centre - The Big Chair Dance - Friday 11 July, 3pm. The Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall - FREE ENTRY
