in the almost completed Peace Process in Northern Ireland, Cindy Claes
using her own unique brand of Urban Dance Theatre to examine modern slavery.

An album of colourful new rock ’n’ roll songs performed by dancers who not only
play their instruments but dance with them and even sing standing on their
head! This electrifying dance theatre piece - featuring guitars, fiddle, cello,
percussion and voice - is 'laugh out loud' funny, yet strikingly poignant.

Kompany Malakhi return to fire up the stage with Boxin’, an edgy tale of misfits and
misinformation. Kwesi Johnson’s pioneering company crackles with energy as its
trademark collision of contemporary dance and street style pushes physical theatre
to the limit.
Steve Denton’s architectural set of platforms, slopes and corners sees the
performers blur the line between dance theatre and parkour all to a soundtrack
every bit as unexpected as the story that unfolds.

extraordinary dance. A feast of all that is new arrives in Stratford.
Featuring: VOCAB Dance Company with Atomic Sun - an intimate portrait about
the search for humanity, Freddie Opoku-Addaie and Jorge Crecis with their new
duet Bf - exploring power and dominance, Cross-Wired by Sofiane Chalal, Jonathan
Geyevu and Steeve Watterlot directed by Mathilde Lopez - a touching and comic trio,
Together / Alone - an international collaboration by Sébastien Ramirez and Raphael
Hillebrand exploring where we are and who else is there - a powerful exploration
of the subconscious and parallel worlds through dance, film and light.

The UK’s ultimate battle experience returns!
Stylefest is workshop and battle event created specifically for Hip Hop, Street
dance and Funk style performers placing an emphasis on the underground
dance scene in the UK. Stylefest allows both specific and non specific dancers to
learn, showcase, battle and network in order to improve abilities and knowledge
of both commercial and non-commercial dance styles.
Saturday 18 April (workshop) and Sunday 19 April (battle, discuss, freestyle,
watch and perform)

ADAD Open Stage™ is an informal platform for artists working with forms of
dance of the African Diaspora.
Artists – come and showcase your work in progress and receive feedback from your
peers and a panel of dance professionals. This platform is open to artists at any
stage in their career and places on the platform are allocated on a first come, first
served basis. Application deadline Friday March 13th 2009.
To apply please write two paragraphs describing the piece you would like to present (duration
of pieces should be 10 to 20 minutes) and send via email to:
