Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visits the Talent House

On Thursday 13 June, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited the Talent House as she officially launched the second year of Foundation for Future London’s UK Culture Exchange programme at the building.

Whilst at the Talent House, Her Royal Highness met breaking artists Emma Houston, Claire Hough and Lauren Scott, as well as enjoying a beautiful solo dance performance (Imole) by AfroQueen’s Olu Alatise, and a powerful live music performance from UD Music’s Flames Collective. The Princess Royal then met and awarded certificates to young people from Foundation for Future London’s 2023 Culture Exchange pilot, who were part of a 50-strong cohort aged 18-25 from East London, Preston, Sheffield and Birmingham.

Tia Hassan & Kate Scanlan, Joint Creative Director & CEO, East London Dance said “East London Dance is proud to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to our home today. We are building a creative home for young people, local talent and the community at the Talent House. Along with our programmes, we are a catalyst for change, breaking down barriers and enriching the sector with new audiences, future talent and the creation of new dance theatre work by diverse local artists. We are thankful for the continued support of our work by Foundation for Future London to increase access to the creative industries.”

Foundation for Future London was one of a number of organisations that funded the original fit out of the Talent House.
